Schenectady County is proud to offer more than 75 thousand square feet of meeting space, 800 hotel/motel rooms, 100 restaurants and a walkable downtown district that is home to 2,700 seat Historic Proctors Theatre, a 450 seat GE Extreme Screen theater,a multiplex movie theater and numerous restaurants and nightspots. The Chamber of Schenectady County is ready to assist you with planning your meeting for next week, next year or two years from now. The Chamber serves as Schenectady’s ambassador – ready to welcome guests and ensure they enjoy their stay. We’ll help you with the details small and large, and make certain your planning becomes a reality. The Chamber will coordinaterequest for proposals, assist in developing comprehensive itineraries, and serve as a liaison to hotels, venues and services.To submit a request for proposal go to gkehn@schenectadychamber.org. Schenectady Chamber services include:
- Coordination of welcome letters from appropriate government officials for inclusion in your registration materials or welcome speeches or invocations by appropriate government officials and/or clergy.
- Customized itineraries, developed for guest and spouse tours of the area.
- Distribution of regional travel information, which can be made available at your registration areas, complimentary brochures, and maps. For larger meetings we offer registration personnel to facilitate efficient check-in procedures, material distribution, and greeting of delegates, provide guest assistance, travel information, tour suggestions, directions and even restaurant menus.
- Provide a direct Chamber referral service for your convenience to over 950 member businesses and organizations. These businesses offer personal service, experience, creativity, and promise overall customer satisfaction. Services include meeting planners, technical and computer companies, merchandise providers, photographers, advertising and promotions companies, and unique gathering places.Transportation company members will be pleased to customize a shuttle schedule and routing system designed to meet your needs.
- Assistance in reaching out to local and regional media, businesses and residents at your request.
